Why write the invoice total in words
Many invoice formats, especially in India, ask for “Amount chargeable (in words)”. Copy the words from this page so the total on paper cannot be misread.

How do I add GST or VAT to an amount?
Choose “Add tax”, enter the pre-tax amount and the rate. Tax = amount × rate ÷ 100 and the total is amount plus tax.
How do I take GST out of a price that already includes it?
Choose “Remove tax”. The pre-tax amount is total ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100), and the tax is the difference.
Are the preset rates current?
Tax rates change. The presets are only shortcuts. Use “Custom” to type the rate on your invoice and check it with your tax authority or accountant.
