About this site

A free toolkit for one job: writing amounts in numbers as words, correctly, in any currency.

What we do

Amount in Numbers to Words started with a simple need: write a cheque, an invoice or a deposit slip without second-guessing the spelling of a long amount. The main converter does that for 30+ currencies in both the Indian (lakh, crore) and international (million, billion) systems. Around it sit the tools people usually need next: a cheque preview, a cash counter, a currency converter, a bulk converter and tax, interest and EMI calculators.

How it works

All conversions run in your browser using plain JavaScript. Numbers are handled as text rather than floating-point values, so large amounts are converted exactly. There is no account and nothing to install.

Our principles

  • Accuracy first. Spelling, hyphens and grouping follow standard conventions, and the examples in our guides are generated by the same code as the converter.
  • Privacy. The amounts you type are not sent to a server. See the privacy policy.
  • Plain language. No jargon in the interface.
